Comfort, Style, and Quality All Wrapped in to Two Little Shoes: Vincent Shoes {Review}

We love shoes in our house just about as much a we love clothes. And when I see awesome shoes like these I get so excited! I mean, what good is a great outfit without the proper shoes to complement it? I was offered a pair of Vincent Shoes of my choice to try out and review. After browsing around their site (several times!) I finally decided on this adorable pair of Bettys. It was an extremely tough choice as there are so many cute styles! Close seconds were the Oskar and Olivia styles. I love that the Oskar is a sandal, but is still very supportive and protective like a sneaker with a closed toe. And, despite its name, the Oskar sandals come in a variety of colors and would be perfect for boys or girls. I also love the more "open" sandal styling of the Olivia also with the benefit of a closed toe for added toe protection. But, nothing could beat the adorable, flower-adorned, leather mary janes called Betty. I instantly fell in love with the style, and I knew pink would perfectly match most everything in EG's wardrobe. They are available right now in purple and white (and right now they are on SALE along with several other pairs!). Another feature I knew I would love even before receiving the shoes is the rubber toe guard on the end. One thing that irritates me the most about a lot of shoes is that one fall on concrete is the kiss of death for the toes! Who doesn't think of these things when creating shoes for infants, toddlers, and kids? When they're still crawling, their toes rub the floor. When they're toddlers they're still "toddling" (hence the name :) and fall all the time. And we all know how much any kid runs, jumps, and plays and how that will inevitably end up with the occasional accident. Thus, the toe guard is definitely needed! After having chosen the pair of shoes to try, I was eagerly anticipating their arrival and trying them on EG.

I must say that I was immediately impressed with the look of the shoe, and the obvious attention to quality and detail.
It was easy to see that they were very well made, and the fact that they were adorable didn't hurt! We used the sizing guide on the Vincent website to figure the size we needed, and the shoes fit perfectly. EG seemed very comfortable in them. They are extremely supportive to her little feet and are perfect for wearing anywhere! The only place I wouldn't let her wear them is somewhere I thought they might get filthy (way too cute to mess up!).
Although, the leather on the shoe wipes clean very easily. EG has worn this pair of shoes more than any others she has, and I can't wait to try out another pair of Vincents when she outgrows these.
My favorite feature about the Bettys in particular (and several of their other styles) is that they have the rubber toe guard at the end. Though EG walks very well she still stumbles sometimes, and, when she's playing, the last thing she's concerned about is not messing up the toe of her shoes. The toe guard has prevented scratched up shoes and I love it! We will definitely purchase Vincent shoes in the future, and I invite you to take a look at them as well. They have supremely cute styles for boys and girls of all ages! I can't wait to see what they've got in store for Fall!

Adorable Custom Booties for Little Feet by Bitty Chou Chou {Review and Giveaway} **CLOSED**

16 Powered by RANDOM.ORG

Congratulations to the winner, Vanessa!

I love shoes just about as much as I love clothes! If you know me personally, then you know that EG has more shoes than any other kid on the block, and more shoes than my husband and me combined. They are just too cute, and she needs them. Well, I don't know about the need part, but it's true I can't resist an adorable pair of shoes.
Even if you aren't a "shoe person" like me, you are NOT going to be able to resist the custom booties that bitty chou chou makes for little girls. That's a promise!
Not only will your little one have the cutest little feet on the planet, but no one will believe that they were only $20.
These custom booties from bitty chou chou are definitely unique, so nicely made, AFFORDABLE, and too adorable for words. I was a little worried that EG had well passed the limit on sizing for these cuties, but thankfully bitty chou chou made her a custom pair (thank you, thank you, thank you!).
Stefanie of bitty chou chou said that though she loves to make larger sizes for special occasions (woohoo!), these shoes are made traditionally for prewalkers (sizes 0-18mo).
These are booties and not meant for serious outdoor (running through sand and dirt) wear. They are perfect for inside parties, church, special occasions, and limited time on grass or cement. If you would like a larger custom pair, it's $4 more and there is an add-on listing in her shop (so easy!).

Bitty chou chou made EG a custom pair of my choice, and I decided to go with the Bubblegum Pink Classic Linen Flat (pictured above). I had a terrible time choosing which pair I wanted, and every time I look at her site I think, "Oh, I should've gotten those! Or those!" They really are too cute. The craftmanship is impeccable and I'm still in awe of how someone can make these shoes by hand. Each pair is custom fit for your child's foot; you provide the measurements.
She has a ton of designs to choose from, and each pair of shoes come lined with a coordinating fabric on the inside of the shoe and the footbed, as well as sewn in bitty chou chou labels. Some of my favorite pairs (pictured) are the Magenta Silk Ballet Flats and the Navy and Teal Flower Print Flats. All sizes 6 months and up come with a no-slip grippy sole, which is great for babies who are starting to cruise or walk. The pair we received fit EG perfectly and seemed so comfortable. They came with a new faux leather bottom that I found to be quite slick on hard surfaces, and I would definitely recommend the no-slip bottom instead.
It wasn't a problem for EG as she is already a great walker, but it'd be pretty difficult for new walkers and cruisers. All in all I think bitty chou chou makes some awesome booties that I wish I had found earlier (though my bank account, and husband, are very glad that I didn't!). I am buying these as baby gifts for anyone I know who is having a baby.

Follow that squeak! Mooshu Trainers Toddler Shoes Review

Nothing gets you in the mood for spring more than a pair of fabulous sandals (even if they aren't for you...)! So imagine my delight when these pink beauties from Mooshu Trainers showed up on my doorstep for EG! At first glance, I could honestly say that these were the cutest little sandals I'd ever seen. I couldn't wait to try them on EG and see how she liked them. But, before I tell you how much we LOVED them, let me tell you a little about Mooshu Trainers, Inc. First of all, they are compliant with all CPSIA regulations and included a copy of their compliance certificates with the shoes. This tells me that they have my child's best interests in mind and stay on top of the latest rules and regulations regarding children's items. Based out of Dallas, TX, Mooshu Trainers, Inc. makes many different styles of children's squeaky shoes. Their collection includes Plain Mary Janes (which are anything but plain with the variety of colors and addition of rhinestones to some of them!), Flower Sandals, Boys Sandals, Boys Loafers, their new Mary Jane Tennis Shoes, and their original Add-a-Bow Mary Janes and Sandals (which are fabulous because you can switch out the bows to match any outfit!). All of their shoes have squeakers in the heel that make a squeak with every properly placed step. Now, I know some of you are thinking, "squeakers...what!!". But, hear me out. First of all, the squeakers are removable. If you ever feel like you'd rather not hear a squeak with every one of your child's many little steps, the squeakers are very easily removed (just be sure to put them in a safe place since they are a choking hazard...and so you don't lose them). However, you just might find you want to leave them in, at least for a little while. First, they help your child to walk properly (heel to toe) by rewarding them with the little "squeak" sound. Second, the squeakers make it very easy to identify your child and find them both at home and in public. Hopefully you would never have to find them in public, but this would definitely make it easier! This would be particularly useful in situations with large crowds and many people! Finally, the squeaks were quite entertaining to EG and she didn't want to take the shoes off! Did I mention that she hates to wear shoes? Okay, I rest my case for the squeakers. Now, onto the style and function of the shoes. In a word...perfect! The leather they are made from is unbelievably, buttery soft. Much softer than the leather on any of my own shoes (somehow that's just not right!). There isn't a "rough" part on the entire shoe, and I imagine EG would be able to wear them all day with no problem at all. The color is vibrant and beautiful, and the rhinestone in the middle of the flower adds a little bit of flair. They were so cute on EG that I'm sad it's still a little too chilly to wear them out. We did try them out around the house, and these are the only pair of shoes EG actually wants to put on. They must be comfortable, because I have to pry them off of her feet, and I've alrady mentioned how much she loves the squeakers. I would most definitely buy another pair of Mooshu Trainers and would urge you to try them out for yourself. You can find a complete list of retailers (both retail stores and online retailers) on the Mooshu website. Check 'em out!
